Featured Attractions
Medieval Times
There’s a reason Medieval Times is the No. 1 dinner attraction in North America: Our unique combination of a medieval banquet and thrilling competition between Knights captures the imaginations of all ages.
Carolina Opry
The award-winning show blends two hours of critically acclaimed music, comedy and dance – from Broadway to country, from classic pop to rock’n roll, and gospel to bluegrass. Also featuring “All That” – the hotter-than-hot urban cloggers featured on the hit NBC show “America’s Got Talent.” Directed and produced by Calvin Gilmore (performer on the Grand Ole Opry and winner of the Best Producer award at IGCITA in Las Vegas) The Carolina Opry is the only show to receive every top tourism award, including the coveted Governor’s Cup, and Most Outstanding Attraction, the only show that has been voted #1 show every year, and the only show to have an official day (Carolina Opry Day) proclaimed for the State of South Carolina by the Governor. If you only see one show while you’re in Myrtle Beach, it must be the show that brought entertainment to Myrtle Beach – The Carolina Opry. From the moment you enter the stunning two-story marble lobby, you know you are in for an extraordinary experience that your family will remember long after the tans have faded and the sand has been shaken from the shoes.
Attractions
Everyone knows Myrtle Beach offers the vacationer great golf and fantastic days on the beach, but don’t forget about the Strand’s other Attractions. You can spend your days and nights at the many Theaters, Outlet Malls, Restaurants and have fun at one of the nightlife venues.
What to expect for Nightlife: A large portion of the popular nightclub type bars are located in Celebrity Square(Broadway at the Beach). There are a few hotels around Broadway but chances are you are staying somewhere along the ocean. Cab rides are pretty expensive since there is not a very robust bus service like you might find in some larger cities. The Myrtle Beach VIP Card provides discounts for several of the main cab lines but the most economical way to club hop is to have a designated driver.
What to expect for restaurants: There is no doubt that Broadway also has great places to eat but don’t be afraid to explore because you might miss some of our very best eateries. During the peak vacation months, wait times can sky rocket to 3 hours. You may want to try “call ahead seating” before you leave your lodging. Some restaurants will add your name to the waiting list when you call shaving up to 30 min or more off of your wait time. If you do have to wait, it may ease your tension by saving some money again with the VIP Card.
What to expect from shopping: Shopping is shopping no matter where your from. If you have a day to kill due to inclement weather, try the outlets. There are two Tanger outlet malls and 5 traditional malls. You can’t think about Myrtle Beach shopping without thinking about savings.
What to expect for theaters: Medieval times and the Dixie Stampede are two dinner shows that serve you good food with family friendly action. The arenas are big enough to fit a large crowd but there no “nose bleed” seats. The other shows are more formal (but not too formal) collection of live music, dance and comedy. If you plan to see a few of the shows, why not pick up a VIP Card and save on all of them.
